Integration

It’s an inconvenient reality that the data you want to present to your users is rarely stored in one place. Your title information is not stored alongside your cadastre, your condition data is not stored with your asset data or your sensor observations are not recorded with your sensor location information. Dekho allows you to pull data from these ‘line of business’ systems and massage and present it to your users in a meaningful way with spatial context. Dekho’s data level integration is one of its most simple and powerful features. Dekho has further integration capabilities, Dekho maps can be launched easily via a standard URL. You can add parameters to the URL to launch a Dekho map in a particular location displaying particular data. Finally dekho also offers a deep integration with several other third party systems, providing a rich experience to your users. Third party connectors are available for systems from Infor, Technology One, HP, Civica and others.

Query

Mining other data sources within your business is key, however once you have the data it’s important that you have the capability to configure how your users interact with that data. Dekho has an advanced query engine. From Dekho you can control how users search through your data resources and how the information is presented back to them. Users can search non-GIS data directly or perhaps search data from an online ArcGIS Server. Once users have found the information they are interested in, they can interact with that data and you can provide access to deeper linked data resources – users can easily drill down through layers of data. Dekho gives you maximum control over your information and how its delivered.

Mapping

Of course the key to Dekho is its ability to bring information to life – understanding your businesses information spatially opens new doors. Dekho’s focus is its maps. Dekho can present multiple views onto your world, different maps presenting different information. Dekho can consume mapping services from multiple ArcGIS Server’s together in one place, you’re not limited to consuming data from your own organisation when using Dekho. A rich toolset can be provided to your users if you want – Dekho provides out of the box simple map navigation tools, through advanced map selection tooling, all the way to feature editing capability. You decide what are appropriate for your user base. You’re in control of how your business works with its information.

Administration

Dekho applications are configured by the Dekho Administration application – a comprehensive studio environment where you control all aspects of your Dekho installation. An easy to use, wizard based approach walks you through common administrative tasks such as creating a map, query, report, layout or tool. The environment provides control over security features of the system as well as diagnostics. With Dekho’s Administration application you can be serving maps out over the web within minutes.

Security

Your applications and the data they present must be secured. Dekho gives you significant control over how you embed this application within your existing security environment. Several authentication and authorisation mechanisms are available including an embedded principle store, or the ability to configure Dekho to utilise your in house Single Sign On process. Dekho can be linked to your own LDAP and all configuration is managed via our easy to use administration application. Dekho also allows you to consume map services from secured ArcGIS Servers. Services can be secured via ArcGIS Servers native token based authentication and then Dekho allows you to pull these secure services into your Dekho maps.

Extensibility

Sometimes you want to provide something to your users not available within Dekho – something specific to your domain or business. Dekho ships with a wide range of web services which can be consumed directly  - from within Dekho or outside of Dekho. Further to this Dekho provides a customisation capability which allows you to create your own tooling which can be easily added to the Dekho interface via the Dekho Administration application. Custom tools are also provided by Esri Australia for free download and usage.
